Here are the answers to some of the most common questions that I am asked. Please contact me directly for clarification on any of these points.
How many images do we get on the USB Drive? can I make prints from them?
We provide images on a USB Drive with the precious moments from your wedding. All the images on the USB Drive are unmarked so that you can make as many prints as you want and up to 8″x12″ prints! With our full-day collections, you will receive an average of 450-600 images that are all carefully selected and enhanced so that you can print them right away. The images will already be filtered for you – so images with eyes closed, out of focus, someone ran through the shot, etc will have been removed – leaving only the great stuff!.
Are the photos retouched?
Yes. We do retouch the images for that extra “wow” factor and to enhance their artistic look. That said, my philosophy is to capture the images I envision right out of my camera (as seen on the LCD on the back of my camera). We carefully select 500-600 images from your wedding day and develop them one by one to color correct them and enhance the exposure, contrast, saturation and skin tones. Also, all the images selected for your wedding albums will be retouched in detail to look there absolute best by remove blemishes and unwanted objects and by creating an artistic look that bring the images to the next level.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer premium-quality wedding albums made that are all specifically prepared to your preferences. Made in Italy, they are custom designed and you have a vast choice of cover materials and photographic papers to pick from. The best way is to see and feel the albums for yourself, please contact us and Danylo will be glad to show you albums samples and more of his work so that you can see what we mean by premium-quality.
What is my photography style?
At the base, I always strive to capture moments and subjects in unique and original ways. To talk in terms of “styles”, I would say mine is a mix of a photo-journalistic style with a twist of fashion, fine art and humour. I believe that wedding photography is about capturing the story of your wedding which is mostly done in an non-intrusive photo-journalistic manner. I am always glad to take image requests – and actually encourage them – since my aim is to capture the images that you want and in a manner you are comfortable with. For instance, the couple pictures session is a great opportunity to make creative and fun images at the locations of your choice. This is also went we can make images with flare and the style that suits you.
Will there be two photographers for my wedding?
Absolutely. This is definitely the way to go. It is a common misconception that a second photographer will only produce a second version of similar shots. Although both photographers travel together to each location, this allows us to cover your big day from two perspectives at each location we visit. For instance while the main photographer might be photographing the bride during the morning preparations, the second photographer could be making portraits of family members and capturing candid images that might be missed otherwise. Having two photographer also allows me to use a wider range of creative lighting techniques. It also open the door to the possibility of a Photo Booth and Same-Day Image Sideshow at the reception hall. I only work with a select few of photographers who have wedding photography experience.
How long does it take to receive my USB Drive and the albums? I heard it can take up to a year after a wedding?
We make it a priority to get your wedding images ready and in your hands as soon as possible. I aim to have one of the fastest turn around times in the industry. Here is a quick summary of my workflow:
3-4 weeks: Thank You cards would be ready to mail to all your family and friends!
3-4 weeks: Online Image Gallery is up and ready to share with everyone!
Once the album design is confirmed received from you, it generally takes 6-8 weeks to get your album in your hands.
What’s an Engagement session? Should I do this?
You should definitely do it! The engagement session allows for you to get comfortable with the camera before the wedding and allows us to get to know each other a little better. Most importantly, it is also an amazing opportunity to make creative and fun images in a casual setting. We can do it at the locations of your choice.
I am not photogenic and I am not really sure what to do in front of a camera? Is there anything I should prepare for?
Rest assured that all you need to do is be yourself. You will look great on your wedding and as a professional photographer with experience working with models, I will direct you (if needed) to make you look your absolute best. No need to prepare for anything as the most important thing is to just enjoy your wedding and have fun!
Should I “Revive my dress”? Will it get ruined?
Absolutely! The Revive the Dress session is loads of fun and allow you to reuse your wedding dress once again after your wedding (see images from a recent photo sessions here). It’s a great occasion to create truly unique and creative images in a casual setting. Note that the dress will not necessarily get ruined but it’s all up to you! Also, the session can also make you feel like a prince and princess (see images from recent casual sessions). You will definitely love it!
Do you travel for weddings?
Definitely! We provide our services worldwide. Danylo has traveled extensively in the past to China, Panama, Ghana, Thailand, Indonesia and many part of Europe, and so this is absolutely down his alley. Please contact us for more details.
